The Friends are a group of volunteers who are interested in supporting, promoting and enhancing the excellence of this local library.

  • We provide funding for the young adult's and children's summer reading programs
  • We donate money for books, tapes, CD's and DVD's to enrich the collection.
  • We dream up programs, trips, parties, music concerts and speakers all of which are open to the public.
  • We accept and organize books and then staff our annual used book sale
  • We provide financial support for the Military History lectures and the local History Room
  • We subsidize museum passes to many local attractions.

We depend completely on contributions which we raise in two ways: annual memberships and the used book sale. Your contribution of $15 or more makes you a member of The Friends. We have over 500 members. Please j oin us!

Annual Book Sale

Friends of the Weston Public Library -Annual Fall Luncheon. Wednesday, October 22, 2008  Henderson House, 99 Westcliff Road, Weston.

 Our guest speaker will be Ann Hood, best-selling author of, among other publications, the novel The Knitting Circle  and her memoir Comfort: A Journey Through Grief.  Both of these books will be available for sale and signing, starting at 10:30 am.  The program will begin at 11:00 am, when Ms. Hood will talk about "The Writing Life."  Cost for the program and  luncheon is $22 for members and $24 for non-members.  The deadline for reservations is October 12, and transportation is available if needed. Everyone is welcome, but seating is limited, so it is wise to make your reservations early.  Please make checks out to Friends of the Weston Public Library and mail  to: Karen Gallagher, 132 Wellesley St., Weston, MA 02493.  Karen can be reached at 781-893-3141 (leave message) if you have any questions.
