Trustees of the Merriam Fund

The Weston Select Board is seeking one volunteer to serve as Trustees of the Merriam Fund. Known as the "Fund for the Silent Poor of Weston," the Trustees are responsible for the judicious distribution of income from a fund that was established in the late 1800s to provide small assistance to residents who find themselves in difficult, short-term financial distress.

Trustees serve three year terms and given the delicate nature of the work, they must be discreet when handling requests.  The fund itself is quite small and interested residents with a willingness to help raise money towards this fund are also desired.

To apply, please submit a volunteer application available to download or apply online or send letter of interest with background information to the Select Board via email at selectboard@westonma.gov or mail to P.O. Box 378, Weston, MA  02493. Applications accepted until position is filled.
