Mens Interview & Work Attire

Drop off at COA begins Monday, November 30 and ends Friday, December 11

Suits & Smiles is a program designed to provide interview and work attire for men in need in the greater Boston, Framingham and Worcester areas. Their goal is to empower low income men to attain the jobs they need to improve their lives and become financially independent. Donations of new and like-new business attire for men are appreciated. This includes: suits, dress shirts, dress pants, blazers, ties, new dress socks and professional shoes. Clothing must be new or not more than 3 years old, on hangers, recently cleaned and in immediately wearable condition. Please be sure that all items are without stains, pet hair, holes, odors or bugs.

Get Help Paying Heating Costs

With the approaching heating season, federal fuel assistance is available through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) to assist those who qualify with the partial payment of heating costs. The program pays benefits of fixed amounts to the primary heat source vendor (gas, oil, electric), based on household size and income. The COA has applications and is able to explain the process, and help with completing and submitting the applications. The program season and coverage of benefit payment runs November 1, 2020 to April 30, 2021. Contact Joyce McSweeney at the COA for more information and to get an application. You may also contact South Middlesex Opportunity Council (SMOC) directly at 508-620-2342.
