A Review of Biden’s Key Appointments

Local and Global Discussion Group

Thursday, February 11, 1:15-3:00 on Zoom

“Personnel,” it is often said, “is policy.” What, then, are the implications of Biden’s choices for his most vital executive and cabinet-level positions and what do they augur for presidential policy directions during his term? Biden has said that he wants his government to “look like the country,” and his high-level appointments reflect that pledge.

The Local and Global Discussion Group (LGDG) of the Weston Council on Aging will explore this and related issues at its next meeting, which will include short presentations on a number of Biden’s appointees to include the duties of the office, the background of the nominee, and how he or she will likely shape policy for the next four years. A short discussion will follow each of these presentations, and the meeting will wrap up with additional comments from the participants and a general summary.

The meeting is open to anyone interested in a civil discussion of the topic with a wide variety of participants.
