Community Drum Circle

Drumming brings people together in community to create peace, health and wellness. The uplifting rhythms of Africa relieve stress and help people connect with each other, as well as their own joy. In this drumming class, Tara Murphy, African and Afro-Caribbean dance and drumming teacher and performer, encourages participants to express their rhythms creatively. She’ll teach the basics of drumming and traditional rhythms from Mali and Guinea, West Africa. Participants will learn simple rhythms and play on “found sounds" with ordinary household items. Please remember to bring your MSC key tag when you come to the COA!

Field School Field Next to the COA

Grab a Ben & Jerry’s ice cream then sit and enjoy the sounds of summer songs written by some of America’s greatest composers and performed by Bo and Bill Winiker’s band. The Winiker brothers have been performing together since the inception of the Winiker Family Band in 1962. Their music is timeless, covering a diverse range of genres and eras.
