COA Community Updates

December Reflections

As we look back on 2021, we reflect on the power of community and all that we've overcome and learned together. The past few months have begun to feel more normal at the COA, as daily visits increased, in-person classes slowly returned, and many of us felt acclimated to the new normal. Though we find ourselves staring down the unknown once again this January, we find solace in the hope that the new year ushers in.

We are grateful to have safely gathered together one last time this year for a special holiday coffee & conversation event. Everyone left with an embroidered fleece blanket and the feeling of holiday cheer.

Support from community organizations is essential to the operation of the COA and this month was filled with these precious collaborations. Thank you to all residents who donated home goods to our donation drive for Friends of Boston’s Homeless; the Women’s Community League of Weston for providing gift wrapping services; the Weston Garden Club for hosting a winter table wreath workshop; Weston Girl Scout troops 70138 & 64763/64764 for making handmade snowflake ornaments to distribute; Weston Forest and Trails President Joel Angiolillo for leading our December walk; resident Elizabeth Young for creating handmade cards for Weston Meals on Wheels recipients; and to our devoted food pantry volunteers who organized our food pantry after a busy donation season.
