Knee & Hip Arthritis: Exercises Can Help

Wednesday, February 16, 1:00-2:00 on Zoom

Exercise can help to reduce pain and increase mobility in most cases of arthritis in the knees or hips. It can even help delay or even prevent the need for surgery for some. Physical Therapist, Kevin Wagner, will illustrate some simple exercises that can help reduce the pain associated with arthritis in the knees and hips to keep you moving. Support Groups

Caregiver Support Group

Thursdays, February 3 & 17, 10:00-11:30 at the COA
If you are seeing memory changes in a loved one, this group might help you. Members share stories and wisdom as well as resources and strategies for coping with the challenges of caring for someone at any stage of dementia. These meetings are hosted in-person at the COA with an opportunity to join virtually on Zoom. Contact the COA at 781-786-6280 to register. 

Neuropathy Support Group

Thursday, February 17, 1:00-3:00 on Zoom
These group meeting are open to anyone with neuropathy as well as family and friends. Contact the COA at 781-786-6280 to receive monthly Zoom link.

Opera Appreciation Series

Thursdays, Feb. 17-April 7, 10:00-12:00 at the COA

Opera instructor Ron Williams returns to the COA with this 8-week opera appreciation series. The series will explore the symphonies of Beethoven, the history of American Musical Theater, Verdi’s Othello, Puccini’s La Rondine, and the most popular work of Gilbert and Sullivan, HMS Pinafore. Each class includes overview, discussion and viewing of clips. Call the COA at 781-786-6280 to register.

Health and Wellness with Regis College Masters Students

Thursdays, February 17-April 7, 1:00-2:00, at COA

We are happy to announce our continued collaboration with Regis College for an 8-week health and wellness series. Graduate students Sydney and Keriann will lead us in interactive and thought-provoking group sessions each week, providing the opportunity to meet new people and learn something new about health and wellness topics. Friday Flick: The Last Duel

Friday, February 18, 1:00-3:00 at the COA

Jean de Carrouges is a respected knight known for his bravery and skill on the battlefield. Jacques Le Gris is a squire whose intelligence and eloquence makes him one of the most admired nobles in court. When Le Gris viciously assaults Carrouges' wife, she steps forward to accuse her attacker, an act of bravery and defiance that puts her life in jeopardy. The ensuing trial by combat, a grueling duel to the death, places the fate of all three in God's hands. Call the COA at 781-786-6280 to sign up. Masks required.
