Last chance!
Island Creek Oyster Farm Tour

Last chance to register for our private Island Creek Oyster Farm: private group hatchery and boat tour on September 14, 9:15-2:15. We have 3 seats left!

Your 2-hour tour starts where the oysters do: in the hatchery, where you will see how farmers recreate the ideal conditions for oysters to reproduce and learn the stages of growing algae (oyster food). Next, you’ll head to the nursery where the team monitors oysters through a period of exponential growth before they are big enough to be planted out in the Bay… your next stop!

The captain of the Nathaniel Winsor, a 27-foot Carolina Skiff, will guide you out on the water for an up-close look at the heart of what they do at the farm. We’ll share oyster tales, toss back some freshly harvested oysters, and soak up the sun. If you’re up for it, they will even teach you to shuck your own.

Cost: $100 Call the COA at 781-786-6280 to secure your seat.
