The Town of Weston, acting through its Town Manager, is accepting proposals for a Swimming Pool Design and Engineering Firm or a combination of firms that can provide design and engineering services (“Designer”) necessary to design and prepare the bid documents for the Memorial Pool Improvements Project. Request for Proposals will be received at the Town of Weston, Town Manager’s Office, Town Hall, 11 Town House Road, Weston, Ma, 02493 until 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, 24, August 2021.
Copies of the Request for Proposals may be obtained online at www.westonma.gov/bids starting on July 30, 2021 at 10:00AM.
The Scope of Services shall include:
Phase I: The development of Schematic Designs for Pool repairs and upgrades and renovation of portions of the current facility and site as described in the Scope of Services;
Phase II: Design Development and preparation of Construction Plans and Specifications for the addition and renovation; and
Phase III: (subject to appropriation of funds and authorization by the Town Manager) provision of Construction Administration and Inspection for the project.
Proposals shall be submitted by delivery to the Weston Town Hall, Office of the Town Manager, 11 Town House Road, Weston, MA 02493. The deadline for submission of proposals is 10:00AM on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. Proposals received after this date and time will not be considered.
A non-mandatory briefing session for prospective designers will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Memorial Pool. Questions should be directed in writing to Gary Jarobski, Weston Facilities Department, 89 Wellesley Street or by email at . All inquiries must be received no later than Friday, August 20, 2021 at 10:00 AM.
Designer qualifications are set forth in the attached Specifications for Designer Services. The Designer shall be an architect/engineer registered in Massachusetts and shall have experience in designing publicly owned Pool Facilities in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
The designer’s fee for these services is to be negotiated and shall not exceed $250,000. The Town reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to cancel the procurement at any time if it deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.
